I am 14 and considering joining the army...I am in JROTC and am definatly going to college, I'm just not sure whether to do ROTC or Chemistry. Which would you choose, the life of an Officer, or a doctor of nuclear medicine? If I do decide to become an Army officer, what are the chances of being stationed where I requested?

If I went through R.O.T.C., how many years would I need to give to the Army to become a captain?
ROTC is not a major. You can enroll in ROTC and have Chemistry as your major.
As for Captain, it generally takes 4 years after you graduate, but has been happening a little sooner lately. Who knows by time you graduate.
Reply:with the name, i love oprah, i wouldn't think you would like the life of an officer. it would take you approx 4-6 to pick up captain in the army. captain is still a junior officer. i would go with the doctor of nuclear medicine.

What Would Happen If I Formated The C Drive(C:)??
I need some more disk space and i want to delete everything except the basic stuff like Microsoft Word Etc. So i clicked on My Computer and then i right clicked Local Disk (C:) then i saw a format option.
What would happen if i clicked it??? what it delete absoultly everything??
If i but all my important info on a FLash drive before i format it will they all be safe??? Please help me out.

Windows keeps a lot of files in some places that can be pretty hard to find. And, it can crib if it does not find them.
Have you considered purchasing a cheap USB external Hard drive?
another alternative is to remove the installed programs from start -%26gt; control panel -%26gt; add/remove software and un-install many of them.
You can re-install them in D: (if you have the installables ready, that is!)

Consider instead deleting useless, no longer needed/wanted files or investing in an external hard drive to which you could transfer most of what's on your C drive. External hard drives are relatively inexpensive these days and are available in many capacity ranges, from 40 GB to 500 GB or more. Maxtor is a reputable brand to consider.

Reply:yes, it will delete EVERYTHING, Windows, all your stored music, photos, all the programs you have installed, all the drivers for your CD drive, printer etc - everything.
Don't do it unless you a) realise that you are going to lose everything b) have backed up anything you want to keep onto a CD or flash drive and c) (most important) that you have the installation disks your computer came with plus the ones for the stuff you want to keep such as Word. If you don't have those, your computer will become a useless heap of metal and plastic.

On top of this you will also lose the programs that allow you to run Windows, access the internet, read these replies, everything.
I have done this when I had a disc corruption. I copied my important info off on to CD's, formatted (aka wiped) the disk and then reloaded Windows and every other application again from scratch. It took ages
If you have a folder of stuff that you want to keep but don't use very often then you could try this
Right click on the folder to being up the properties box
Left click on Properties
Click on Advanced
In the pop up box there should be an option to compress that folder to save disc space.
I have used this and I think it is safe.
The files that get compressed are still there and you can still access them. They take a little longer to open and to save because Windows has to expand / compress them before %26amp; after use
